Graphic Design Internship

Reporting to: Head of Education (Online)
Hours: Minimum 80 hours
Timeline: July – Oct, 1-2 days per week

Hours are flexible, however interns must be available during working hours for communication with team/line manager

Virtual OnBoarding will take place on Thursday 6 July 11:00am-12:30pm

The Earthwatch Education team is looking for a talented and creative intern to assist in graphic design work on workshop modules, lesson plans and partnership proposals.

The Earthwatch education program exists to promote environmental literacy, positive wellbeing and climate resilience in young people. Our education programs raise awareness and drive action on local and global environmental issues, by bringing school communities together in nature to solve common challenges and help our young generation of leaders take collective responsibility for their future.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing out of date lesson plans & workshop materials (with old design styles, logos & imagery) created on both InDesign and Canva and re-designing the layouts to reflect Earthwatch Australia’s new branding and guidelines.
  • Work with the Education team to create:
  • New partnership proposal/ prospectus layouts
  • New lesson plan infographics and design layouts. Lesson plan content/body and proposal information has been pre-created and is ready for you to feature within your creative designs.

Skills required:

  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
  • Proficiency in Canva – multinational graphic design platform
  • Experience using Office 365
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography and colour theory
  • Ability to work independently
  • High level attention to detail

Interviews will take place 27-29th June. Successful candidates must be available for (virtual) OnBoarding on Thursday 6th July from 11:00am-12:30pm
