Programs Officer

Claire Jinnette has a bachelor degree of Environmental Science - Marine Biology and has been active in the environmental field for the past decade, with a particular passion for seabirds and reducing ocean plastics.

Claire has a strong belief in providing immersive environmental education and hands-on experience to assist individuals in finding a connection to nature, empowering them to make positive choices for the environment.

She spent seven years on Phillip Island delivering environmental education and programs while working closely with seabirds (including little blue penguins), Australian fur seals, whales, koalas, marine invertebrates and critically endangered eastern-barred bandicoots. Claire has driven a number of volunteer programs and community events focused on cleaning up our beaches and reducing the amount of plastic in the marine environment, and is actively involved in ongoing seabird field research and citizen science projects.
