Viki Nathan Learning and Volunteer Engagement Manager

Viki Nathan

Learning & Volunteer Engagement Manager

Viki is the longest serving employee of Earthwatch Australia, with over 12 years of commitment.

Her first Earthwatch experience was working for Orica, an Earthwatch Australia partner, who funded staff and teachers to participate on Earthwatch expeditions. She had the great pleasure of contributing to research into the critically endangered Leadbeaters Possum – Victoria’s faunal emblem. Viki remembers being impressed at the dedication and hard work shown by the scientists in all weather, day and night and discovered for some scientists the forests, oceans, or deserts are their laboratory.

After deciding that 15 years in the IT industry was enough for her and completing a Masters of Environmental Science, she was fortunate to obtain a job at Earthwatch Australia. Viki believes that with a better informed public we can make a difference. She is thrilled to be able to use her science background to support the research needed to make informed decisions about the future of our planet’s environment. She loves her role at Earthwatch where she feels part of the solution.
